Elizabeth Runner
Elizabeth H. Runner, 75, of Bowling Green, died at 5:05 a.m. July 16, 2010, at her residence.
Elizabeth loved her church, Old Missionary Baptist Church, her family and her friends. She loved to cook, travel, go to gospel singings and sing in her church choir. She graduated from Warren Central High School in 1952 and went to nursing school on a scholarship, attending General Hospital in Nashville, graduating in 1955. She was then employed at Old City County Hospital and later became Dr. A.D. Donnely’s office nurse. When Dr. Donnely died, she was hired at Bowling Green Area Vocational School to teach nursing. She later transferred to Barren County Vocational School to assist Max Doty in his nursing program. She retired on Sept. 1, 1989. She was a daughter of the late A.N. Hendricks and Eva Roxie White Hendricks. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwynne R. Chyle; and three brothers, Clarence Hendricks, William David and Ronald Ray Hendricks.
Funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Old Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Harold W. Runner; three sisters, Katherine Garrett and her husband, Wilbur, of Bowling Green, and Jean Russell and Jo Carol Thornton, both of Glasgow; two brothers, Haven Hendricks and his wife, Lois, and Jerry Hendricks and his wife, Brenda, all of Bowling Green; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Hendricks, of Rich Pond, and Gail White, of Richardsville; a son-in-law, Kenneth Chyle, of Auburn; three granddaughters, Kristyn Hall and her husband, David Andrew, and Kelsey Chyle-Hammers and her husband, Ray, all of Bowling Green, and Kandi Slaton
