BURCHETT, JERRY MILLER
Jerry Miller Burchett, 73, of Bowling Green, died March 7, 2010, at a Bowling Green nursing home.
The Adairville native was born Oct. 21, 1936. He was a self-employed photographer, a policeman at Western Kentucky University and a custodian at Forest Park Baptist Church. Singing was Mr. Burchett’s life - he sang for untold amounts of funerals and at his church. He went to area nursing homes to sing. He was a generous man and had a very deep compassion for the poor. He loved his children and grandchildren. He was an active attendee of Forest Park Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Buford Burchett and Ruth Moore Burchett.
Funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park Baptist Church, with burial at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Charlotte Burchett; two daughters, Jana Curtis and Javonni Burchett, both of Bowling Green; two sons, Joe Burchett, of North Carolina and J. Bryan Burchett, of Bowling Green; a stepson, Joe Stamps and his wife, Beth, of Bowling Green; a brother, Michael Burchett and his wife, Gail, of Jeffersontown; a sister, Jo Ann Lovinger, of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Landon Burchett, Zain Curtis, Lauren Stamps, Taylor Stamps and Gage Lee; two nephews; and two great-nephews.
