RICHMOND, JEAN MARIE
Jean Marie Owens Richmond, 79, died Feb. 5, 2010.
The Bowling Green native was born July 24, 1930. She was retired and had recently moved to Hendersonville, Tenn. After moving to Hendersonville, Jean had made many new friends and enjoyed spending more time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, Shelby and Austin, trips for ice cream at Maggie Moo’s with Shelby and watching her dance at basketball halftime shows and going to Station Camp High School football games to watch Austin play. It can be truthfully said that Jean never ran out of occasions for family dinners and the opportunity to cook for those she loved. She was a daughter of the late James Arthur Owens and Nellie Elizabeth Owens. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Carrol Owens and Lamar Owens.
Funeral is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracey White Cannon and her husband, David, of Hendersonville; a son, James Massey, of Florida; two grandchildren, Shelby Nelson and Austin Nelson; a best friend, like a daughter, Kathy Speevack and Dale Smith, of Bowling Green; two sisters, Wanda McCloud and her husband, Fred, of Bowling Green, and Norma Morabito, of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Dot Owens and her husband, Larmar; two brothers, Terry Lee Owens and his wife, Louise, of Colorado, and Marc Owens and his wife, Melanie, of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
