LAGNESS, MARY FRANCES
Mary Francis Lagness, 83, of Bowling Green, died Feb. 5, 2010, at a Bowling Green nursing home.The Warren County native was born Nov. 19, 1926. She was a baker, a member of First Baptist Church and deaf choir and was the treasurer of her Sunday school class. She enjoyed ceramics, music and traveling. She was very dear to her family and generous. Mary especially loved children and animals. She attended the Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville and Deaf Ministries at First Baptist. She was a daughter of the late Jesse Arthur Morgan and Era Ann Pearson Morgan. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Barks, Dorothy Morgan and Mattielean Morgan; and five brothers, Jesse Earl Morgan, Harold Morgan, Charles Morgan, Alfred Morgan and Jody Morgan.Funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and begins at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.Survivors include a son, Donald Musser and his wife, Stefanie, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Karen Sue Simerlien and her husband, John, of Valparaiso, Ind.; three sisters, Velma Lou Johnson, of Alvaton, Bernice Spencer, of Nellysford, Va., and Betty Hudgins and her husband, Clarence, of Rockfield; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
